Two Swans (In Love) on Lake Gosau

This painting was built through my layered process of drawing, selective pyrography, and oil painting on wood panel.

Beneath the painted surface lives an understructure of burned linework and illustration. The pyrography acts as a permanent framework beneath the oil paint, guiding movement, structure, and texture throughout the final layers.

Every square inch a freeform dance. Every gesture deliberate.

The looseness in the painting is intentional. I wanted brushwork that felt alive and atmospheric without losing structure.

A conversation between plan, patience, and spontaneity.

Some areas dissolve softly into air while others sharpen into detail. I’m interested in that balance. Precision beside freedom. Control beside surrender.

I created Two Swans (in Love) on Lake Gosau as a love letter to the Austrian Alps and to the quiet balance that exists within nature.
